Larger than Salem, Oregon

After our graduation ceremony last week in Atengo, Jalisco, Tia is now serving 165,000 rural Mexicans who are receiving care from our 519 Promotores (Community Health Workers)!  On this particular trip, we were especially grateful to our UVM Mobile Lab who discovered lead and mercury in the water sources.  Because they turned the results around so quickly, we were able to teach the Promotores how to make a water filtration system to clean the water.  Plus, we alerted local and state authorities to a pressing problem, so they can address it on a larger scale.
